FLEXIBILITY 1/2

Included here are half the exercises in the FLEXIBILITY section of the The Jazz Trumpet Routine. This includes Minor Thirds, Major Thirds, Fourths, Tritones and Fifths.

Each recording is call-and-response style, giving an example of the sound of the exercise and then leaving space for you to play. I recorded and edited all the recordings from my home in Bloomington, Indiana, and they are uploaded as high-quality, 320-kbps mp3 files.

If the tempo for any exercise is uncomfortable for you (either too fast or too slow), either pause the recording when it’s your turn to play, and/or download the recordings and adjust the tempo so that you can hear, sing and play the exercise clearly and musically. As you become comfortable at this tempo, adjust the speed accordingly.
